For Canadians seeking answers to questions concerning cross-border medical care, the DMC offers a “Canadian Information Guide,” a guide to expedient health care for Canadians.

It’s important for Canadians to understand the complexities of cross-border health care at the Detroit Medical Center, or any other U.S. institution, for that matter. The DMC is one of the few facilities with an established International Services department to handle inquiries from Canada and beyond.

To have your medical care paid for by the Ontario Ministry of Health, your primary care doctor will need to complete a Prior Approval Application for Full Payment of Insured Out-of-Country Health Services form.
